The increased use of smartphones and PCs, as well as drafts and unfavorable climatic conditions, mean permanent stress for the eyes. These factors can contribute to the lipid layer being impaired (e.g. due to significantly reduced eyelid blink frequency at the screen) and lead to excessive evaporation of the tear film. Dry and even watery eyes are then not long in coming. In such cases, EvoTears® eye drops can support the eyes. The first water-free eye drops are very good for relieving the symptoms of dry eye. With the ingredient perfluorohexyloctane, they do not replace the watery part of the tear film, but lie over it like a protective coat and can thus prevent premature evaporation. Due to their special flow properties, EvoTears® are available in a practical dropper bottle in which no germs can develop, even without preservatives. This means they are well tolerated and have a shelf life of 6 months after opening.

When do I use EvoTears®?

Dry eye is one of the most common diseases in ophthalmology. In almost 60% of those affected, the cause is a so-called lipid phase disorder(1), which is manifested by complaints such as watery and burning eyes. Often the complaints are more pronounced in the morning. Causes of these complaints can be the intensive use of PC, smartphone and laptop. But also drafts, air conditioning or unfavorable climatic influences such as cold wind can promote these complaints. With EvoTears®, an unprecedented therapy class for the treatment of dry eyes due to a lipid phase disorder has been available since 2015. EvoTears®, the unique(2) lipid replacement, convinces with its efficacy and tolerability and is suitable for the majority of dry eye sufferers.

How do I apply EvoTears®?

STEP 1: Hold bottle with the dropper tip facing up and squeeze gently. Note: We recommend using in front of the mirror.

STEP 2: Before moving the bottle to the eye: Turn squeezed bottle with the dropper tip facing down and then immediately release the pressure. Air flows into the bottle.

STEP 3: Continue to hold bottle with the dropper tip down and guide it over the eye. Apply only one drop to each eye by pressing lightly on the bottle and close the bottle again.

Can I use EvoTears® with contact lenses?

If you wear contact lenses, you should not use EvoTears® because there are insufficient data on compatibility with contact lens materials.

How does perfluorohexyloctane help against dry eyes?

The lipophilic, i.e. oil-like, property of perfluorohexyloctane allows EvoTears® products to take over the function of the lipid layer. The resulting effective evaporation protection creates satisfied patients. In addition, the aqueous phase of the tear film is stabilized and watery eyes are prevented.

Thanks to lipophilic property, a velvety feeling is created in the eye during application.

What is the package size?

EvoTears® is available as a single pack (3 ml). Each bottle contains at least 280 drops and you can use the eye drops for 6 months after opening.
