What are possible causes for dry eyes?
The causes of dry eyes and a lack of lacrimal fluid can be very varied. Alongside dry air or draughts, wearing contact lenses, working in front of a monitor or taking medication (for example the contraceptive pill or beta blockers for high blood pressure), the menopause or increasing age, for example, could also have a role to play.

What are the symptoms of dry eyes?
Typical symptoms for a depleted tear film are burning, itching or redness in the eyes. In addition, rapid eye fatigue as well as a foreign body sensation in the eye could occur. What many people do not know: even if your eyes are watering a lot, this can be an indication of a depleted and dysfunctional tear film on the surface of the eye.

In order to avoid possible reactions between HYLO EYE CARE® products and contact lens cleaning solution, it is recommended not to administer the drops until 30 minutes after putting in the contact lenses.

How do I use the HYLO COMOD® bottle?
Remove the protective cap. Hold the COMOD® bottle in your hand such that you hold the shoulder of the bottle with your thumb and the base of the bottle with your index and middle finger (the so-called C grip). Use your free hand to slightly pull your lower eyelid away from your eye. You can also use your second hand as a support for the hand which you are using for the bottle. Dispense one drop in each eye by quickly pressing the bottom of the bottle once. The liquid spreads evenly when you close your eye slowly.

How do I use the eye ointments HYLO NIGHT® and PARIN POS®?
Because eye ointments impair vision, they are generally applied before going to sleep. Before administering, wash your hands thoroughly and apply the ointment in front of a mirror. Pull the lower eyelid slightly forwards and place a short line of ointment in the conjunctiva with the tip of the nozzle. Then slowly close your eyes so that the ointment can spread evenly. Make sure that you do not touch the eye or the eyelid with the tip of the nozzle.
PARIN POS® eye ointment can also be applied to the eyelid and gently spread with a finger.

What is important to note when using eye ointment?
Because eye ointments impair vision, you should apply them before going to bed if possible. If you wish to use the eye ointment during the day, you will temporarily be unable to see clearly. Therefore, you should not drive nor operate heavy machinery nor work without a firm footing.
